Dan Herrscher

Dan is a native of Phoenix, Arizona, where he studied piano with Mrs. Adalyn MacFarlane. While attending the U. S. Naval Academy, he was active in the Glee Club, Protestant Chapel Choir, and the Pep Band. What he knows about playing the organ he learned here at Chula Vista Presbyterian Church, thanks to the late Mary Jane Moore, our previous organist, and friends in the local Chapter of the American Guild Of Organists. He loves a lot of different kinds of music, from Renaissance to Ragtime, and believes that any music that is truly full of praise and worship has a place in our religious life. If it inspires, uplifts, consoles, moves or otherwise positively affects another person, then that's the music he wants to play. Outside of the church, he works for San Diego Unified School District, as a Coordinator in the Maintenance Planning Department. He has two daughters, two grandsons, and one granddaughter. He’s proud of all of them.
